Banana Bread, is so simple to make and tastes simple too. I make these every weekend, and I pack two slices in the snack box everyday. You can make it elaborate by making a caramel sauce to go with it and top it with banana slices and some toasted nuts.
I buy 12 bananas a week and by the end of the week i am always left with one or two which have turned black. Cant throw them every week can i?? So i just throw them in the freezer. I take them out leave it out for 5 to 10 mins and use them in puddings, milkshakes, icecreams and almost every week I make Banana Bread
Ingredients
70gms – Unsalted butter
1/2 cup – Dark brown sugar
1/4 cup – Caster sugar
1/4 tsp – Cinnamon powder
1/2 cup – Mashed banana
2 nos – Eggs
1 cup – All purpose flour
2 tsp – Baking powder
Method
Preheat the oven to 170°C.
Sift the flour and baking powder together well for a couple of times.
Grease and dust a loaf pan.
In a large mixing bowl, place the room temperature butter, sugar, flour and baking powder mixture, banana and eggs and mix it well with an electric mixer.
Pour the batter into the loaf tin and bake for 30 to 40 mins or till the crust is nice and brown and the skewer comes out clean.
You will have cracks on the crust, but that is the beauty of this bread. And it also helps the sauce seep in well, incase of making it.
In a saucepan bring 1/2 cup cream and 2 tbsp brown sugar to a boil. Boil the sauce till it gets thick and saucy. Serve on Banana Bread along with banana slices and toasted nuts.

Madhuri, I couldnt help but notice the neat moustache shaped on the slices 😛 that was the funny side.. but really they make it look so elegant… loved the photography and even a simple banana bread you make it look like a decadent that I just want to go and make them and eat all by myself :p

I totally love banana bread… The time I feel like baking banana bread, I have to hide my bananas for them to go overripe, otherwise they just disappear off the counter… hehe… Yours looks so good, as usual the pictures are amazing! 🙂
