Lemon Basil Tea, is a simple, light concoction brewed to get the perfect gold colour. Flavoured with Basil and lemon, I love this tea in the evenings. Here is how you can make this simple tea.
There is this slight chill in the air already and the evening light is beautiful. I love how the colour of the tea looks so beautiful in this light and the shadow of the glasses are stunning. Don’t you think so? This weather just calls for something hot and I love Kashaya and Masala chai as well equally.
Ingredients
Handful of Italian Basil leaves
2 cups – Water
4 tsps – Sugar or as per your taste
2 tsps – Tea leaves ( I use Taj Mahal Tea leaves)
Juice of 1 lemon
Method
To make the Lemon Basil Tea, boil water along with Basil leaves and sugar.
Once the water comes to a rolling boil, add the tea leaves and take it off the flame.
Give it one good stir.
Quickly add the lemon juice and see the colour turn more lighter and golden. This is the part I love.
Strain it and serve it hot.
Wasn’t that super quick and easy ? Go ahead and make it and I bet you will not stop at 1 glass. And incase you do not have Basil, you can always use mint and it tastes equally good.
