The weather in Bangalore is so awesome. It has been raining almost every evening. It is what i call Bhajiya Weather. Aloo Bhajiya is the most simplest bhajiya that you can make.

These Crisp, thin, spicy aloo bhajiya are perfect when had with salty green chillies.

Ingredients

4 nos – Potato

1/2 cup – Gram flour

2 tbsp. – All purpose flour

2 tsp – Red chilly powder

1/2 tsp – Ajwain

Salt to taste

Oil for deep frying

Peel and slice the potatoes into thin slices. Put them in the water till you prepare the batter for the bajia.

Heat the oil in a deep pan for frying and a medium flame.

Mix Gram flour, all purpose flour, red chilly powder, Ajwain and salt in a mixing bowl.

Add a tbsp. of hot oil to this and mix it well. This step will ensure the bajias are crisp.

Add water gradually to form a thick batter, Creamy in consistency,

Taste for Spice and salt.

Add few slices of potatoes to the batter,

Once the oil is hot, pick up each potato slice from the batter, remove excess batter and drop them carefully into the oil.

Fry them on both sides till it is golden in colour.

Drain them and put them on kitchen towel to remove excess oil.

Serve it hot.
