Turmeric, the ‘Queen of Spices’, a must in the spice box of ant Indian Kitchen.
The bright yellow powder ground from the root of the turmeric plant. It is used raw or dried and ground into powder.
Turmeric has been used as a remedy for stomach and liver ailments, as well as topically to heal common cold, cough, wounds, cuts etc.
Haldi waala Doodh is something that is first recommended by mum and grandmum when you catch a cold and cough. Milk boiled with turmeric and ground black pepper soothes the throat.
I usually have Haldi waala doodh every night. And one night while having it, I thought of this recipe.
I am extremely proud to have developed this recipe. A recipe that is completely mine. A never heard of recipe, a recipe with a twist made using the traditional ingredients. I would call it one of the best ice creams I have ever had.
400ml – Heavy Cream
1/2 cup – Powdered Sugar
4 tbsps. – Condensed Milk
2 tbsp. – Turmeric powder
1/2 tsp. – Ground black pepper
Rose petals for garnishing
Refrigerate the cream overnight. Pour the cream into the bowl of the standmixer with whisk attachment. Whisk it till it forms soft peak. add sugar, condensed milk, turmeric powder and black pepper powder and whisk till the cream forms stiff peaks. Transfer this mixture into an airtight container and refrigerate overnight.
Remove it a couple of minutes in advance before you want to serve it. Scoop it out. Garnish it with rose petals and serve.
* Adjust the Sugar according to your taste.
Adjust the turmeric powder according to your liking.
You could also use sliced pistachios or almonds for garnishing.

I so love the high contrast picture. To be frank, these days I am going to low contrast and highly saturated food. But I love these photographs on your blog and turmeric ice-cream sounds so unusual and new to me.
