Had been wanting to make a wheat sponge cake, which i made few days back. A very proud moment for me as i put whatever baking knowledge i have to make it as i did not have any recipe to follow.
Then few of my group friends asked me for an eggless option. Tried few and this is the recipe that gave a good result. Not as good as the wheat sponge cake with egg i must say. But it is not bad at all.
Ingredients
1/4 cup – Melted butter
1 tsp – Vanilla extract
140 gms – Wheat flour
1 1/2 tsp – Baking powder
1/2 tsp – Soda bi-carb
3/4 cup – Condensed milk
- ¼ cup - Melted butter
- 1 tsp - Vanilla extract

- 1½ tsp - Baking powder
- ½ tsp - Soda bi-carb
- ¾ cup - Condensed milk
- Grease and line a 9" cake tin.
- Preheat the oven to 170°C.
- Seive flour, baking powder, soda bicarb together.
- Method
- In a large mixing bowl whisk condensed milk, oil and vanilla extract well. To this with the help of a spatula mix in the flour mixture. Do not over mix. Pour the batter into the tin and bake for 25 to 30 mins or until the toothpick comes out clean.
Preparation
Grease and line a 9″ cake tin.
