Hasi Majjige Huli / No Cooking Curry/ Yogurt Curry
 
si Majjige Huli, means raw yogurt curry. This is a mild flavoured curry made with soaked lentil specially with Ragi mudde.
Ingredients
  • 2 tbsps - Split Bengalgram
  • 2 nos - Green chillies
  • ¼ cup - Freshly grated coconut
  • Salt to taste
  • 1 cup - Yogurt
  • 1 tsp - Oil
  • 10 nos - Curry leaves
  • 1 tsp - Mustard seeds
  • ½ tsp - Fenugreek seeds (optional)
  • A pinch of asafoetida
  • 2 nos - Dried red chillies
Instructions
  1. Soak Bengal gram for a couple of hours or in warm water for an hour.
  2. Once it is soaked and plump, grind this with coconut, green chillies and salt into a smooth paste.
  3. Transfer this into the serving bowl.
  4. Add yogurt to this and mix well.
  5. Check for salt.
  6. For tempering, heat oil and add mustard seeds and let it crackle.
  7. Add fenugreek seeds, curry leaves , red chillies and asafoetida and let them crisp up.
  8. Add this to the Hasi Majjige huli.
  9. Serve it with Ragi mudde or steamed rice.
  10. * Add good amount of chillies to make it spicy and use sour yogurt preferably.
